Culpeper Regional Hospital
The above photo from the 1970s depicts construction crews adding onto the Culpeper Regional Hospital.
The 70-bed hospital, which sits on 10 acres, opened in 1960 on Sunset Lane. It was a one-story facility at the time. Today, the two-story structure (right) features state-of-the-art equipment, special modalities and a vast range of physicians. Hospital authorities signed an agreement with the University of Virginia Medical Center in April in the hopes of expanding its services.
The town’s original hospital, along Old Rixeyville Road, is shown in the inset.
