The Culpeper Ruritan Club presents a full day of family fun at its annual Culpeper Day this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Davis Street.

The rain-or-shine event will feature about 140 vendors and/or community groups, a full lineup of live music, Civil War re-enactors, Thomas the Train, a moon bounce at the Depot, all kinds of food for sale — snow cones, ice cream, hamburgers and hot dogs, funnel cakes, pizza, etc. — and much more, according to John Croft, chairman of the Culpeper Day Committee.

Each year for more than 25 years, the Culpeper Ruritans have used proceeds from the event to support a variety of community charities for young people and the elderly. This year, two seniors each from Culpeper County and Eastern View high schools will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Culpeper Ruritan Foundation.

At Saturday’s event, locally owned Party Design will offer kids games, and Main Street’s Balloon Décor will also be on site.

Civil War re-enactors will set up on the courthouse lawn on West Davis Street, Croft said, as part of the yearlong celebration of the town’s 250th birthday.

Culpeper resident and musician Aubrey Driggers handles this year’s music for Culpeper Day and is excited to present a range of genres — everything from bluegrass and country to classic rock and hip-hop.
