Chaplin, Fonda, Rooney light up screen in Nov.

The Library of Congress Packard Campus continues its free showcase of classic cinema with nine movies in November in the theater on Mount Pony.

The public has enjoyed 12 full months of some of the best films out there since the theater first opened last September.

Coming highlights include at least one Oscar winner (“The Miracle Worker”), an Oscar nominee that’s rated R (“Easy Rider”), Abbott and Costello (“Who Done It?”), an exotic Disney favorite (“Aladdin”) and a return performance by the Little Tramp (“The Circus”).

There will also be a Russian/German film.

The Packard Campus Theater will be closed the week of Thanksgiving. November movies screen at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

- Nov. 5 “The Miracle Worker” (United Artists, 1962)

- Nov. 6 “Confessions of a Nazi Spy” (Warner Bros., 1939)

- Nov. 7 “Ride the High Country” (MGM, 1962)

- Nov. 12 “Who Done It?” (Universal, 1942)

- Nov. 13 “Come and See” (Belarusfilm/Kino International, 1985) In German and Russian with subtitles, Rated R, no one younger than 17 admitted without a parent or guardian

- Nov. 14 “Aladdin” (Walt Disney Pictures, 1992) 2 p.m.

- Nov. 19 “Love Finds Andy Hardy” (MGM, 1938)

- Nov. 20 “Easy Rider” (Columbia Pictures, 1969) Rated R, no one younger than 17 admitted without a parent or guardian

- Nov. 21 “The Circus” (United Artists, 1928) 2 p.m.
