Take a trip down under in the LOC Packard Campus Theater with the Friday Night Foreign, “Walkabout” (1971, 20th Century Fox), screening tonight at 7:30.

In English with Australian accents, the movie tells the story of two children stranded in the Outback and their cultural meeting with an Aborigine on walkabout, that is, a periodic return to nomadic life, or something. With Jenny Lucien and John Agutter. 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Saturday on Mount Pony, “The Music Man” (Warner Bros, 1962) screens at 2 p.m. As of Wednesday afternoon, reservations in the 200-seat theater were completely booked for this movie, but show up early Saturday afternoon to get on standby.

A classic feel-good musical based on the Broadway show, “The Music Man” has some pretty famous songs: Gary, Indiana and 76 Trombones come to mind.

With Robert Preston, Shirley Jones of Partridge Family fame and Ronny (Ron) Howard, when he was just a wee boy. Yup, he’s the same Ron Howard who played Richie Cunningham on Happy Days a decade later. 2 hours and 31 minutes.

Free movies on Mount Pony play every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at 7:30, unless otherwise noted, in the Packard Campus Theater at 19053 Mount Pony Rd., Culpeper
