A silent film comedian whose mug graced a postage stamp in the 1990s appears larger-than-life this weekend on the big screen on Mount Pony.

The Library of Congress Packard Campus Theater features Harold Lloyd (1893-1971) in “The Kid Brother” from 1927 at a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday.

Known for his dangerous stunts, wacky facial expressions and ever-changing glasses, Lloyd plays the title character in the 82-year-old Paramount movie that’s said to be hilarious. He has two brute brothers, but is more on the timid side and must use his wits to earn their respect as well as the love of beautiful Mary (Jobyna Ralston).

With musical accompaniment by Andrew Simpson. Free.

Make reservations Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at (540) 827-1079 ext. 79994 or show up early to get on stand-by. The Packard Campus Theater is located at 19053 Mount Pony Road, a few miles east of town off of U.S. 522.

Friday night on Mount Pony flash back with Peter Fonda and Jack Nicholson in “Easy Rider” from 1969.
