cri announces acts for third thursday concert season

Got the wintertime blues- Cheer up - the 2008 Third Thursday Concert Series kicks off in less than three months.

For the first time ever, Culpeper Renaissance presents four concerts at the Depot, beginning a month earlier.

Here's who's coming:

May 15: Time Machine with opening act Eli Cook

June 19: Randy Waller & The Country Gentlemen with opening act Dark Hallow Bluegrass Band

July 17: The Janitors

August 21: Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs

Other upcoming special events around Culpeper include:

April 18 to 20: Culpeper Remembrance Day commemorating the rich and varied history of Culpeper from the American Revolution to the Civil War. Featuring living history, exhibits, music and more around the county and town; sponsored by the tourism department.

May 2: Culpeper Fiesta at the Depot, featuring music by Los Inmigrantes, Latin American culture and food and lots of activities for children; sponsored by the Hispanic Committee of Culpeper.

May 3: Culpeper Day on Commerce and Davis streets, featuring music, food, vendors and more; sponsored by the Culpeper Ruritans.
