Were you around in Culpeper 75 years ago?

If so, you might have watched “Dinner At Eight” (MGM, 1933) at the old Fairfax Theater on East Davis Street.

According to Rob Stone, curator of the moving images section at the Library of Congress National Audio Visual Center Packard Campus in Culpeper, the high-society comedy showed this very week in Culpeper.

It shows again Friday night at 7:30 in the Mount Pony Theater as part of the weekend’s Remembrance Day events.

Stone shares the history of film shows in Culpeper with a special slide show prior to “Dinner At Eight,” starring Maria Dressler, John Barrymore and Jean Harlow.

The Beatles are back Saturday afternoon with a 2 p.m. showing of “Let It Be” (United Artists, 1970). Watch the Fab Four rehearse, record and refine their new album. A documentary with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
