A Fairfax-based cover band will play the Hazel River Pub for the first time this weekend.

Yoko Says No is scheduled to begin around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Lead singer Chris Hearne, drummer Scott Rudge, bassist Rick McMurray and guitarists Matt Banks and Perry Neal each bring a different style to the table.

Elements of Johnny Cash, Billy Idol, Prince and Ben Harper meld into Yoko’s rock, country rock, ’80s, pop and country vibe.

“Between the five of us, our sound is pretty diverse,” said lead singer Chris Hearne.

The group began playing together about seven years ago and has been known to hammer out an original song or two during gigs.

“Every now and then we’ll sneak in one of them in,” Hearne said. “We’ve gotten pretty good feedback too.”

The cover is $5.
