A special thank you to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church

Community relationships are just as important to the Humane Society of Culpeper as our desire to help people and animals in distress. We are grateful for volunteers who take the time to help us with adoption or clinic events, food drives, web updates or other organizational activity.
We appreciate the vets who provide routine care for our foster animals and the clinics who provide spay/neuter surgeries.
We are proud of supporters who refer people to us for assistance or help spread the word about our mission and efforts. But it is our donors who keep our programs funded and in operation.
All of these individuals and partners make our work possible and without each and every piece, the daily action and tasks of our organization would come to a halt.
One of our programs — Trap-Neuter-Return, completely funded by small grants and private donations, has spayed or neutered 100 cats so far this year. One local donor has recently provided a much-needed donation to help continue to fund the program, which has already surpassed the number of cats who benefited last year, after May 1 when the program was implemented.
We would like to share a sincere expression of gratitude to Saint Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for their recent donation to this program. Clearly, they place the same value in community relationships as the HSC. These funds were made possible from proceeds from the Children’s Consignment Sale, which takes place twice a year.
I’m sure that, over the years, St. Luke’s Church and School have supported many local charities and non-profits that have benefited from their concern and generosity. We are honored to be a part of that tradition.
Through their kindness, many animals will be helped and more will be done to respond to the growing need for spay-neuter. Among our recent successes within the TNR program, another 40 kittens have been placed into foster care since early spring and of those, almost half have found homes already. I hope that our community will respond to Saint Luke’s generosity by in turn supporting their programs.
