St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church hosts its annual Blessing of the Animals ceremony Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. on the lawn of the church at 115 N. East St, downtown Culpeper. Bring your animals, big and small, and have them blessed by the Rev. Michael Gray.
Rapidan Volunteer Fire Department, Rapidan, invites you to its open house and annual membership/donation drive, Oct. 12 from 1 to 3 p.m.
The first place winners of the local NFL Pepsi Punt Pass and Kick Competition hosted by Culpeper County Parks and Recreation have qualified for the Washington Redskins Sectional Competition. This competition will be held Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. at R.E. Lee High School, 1200 North Coalter St., Staunton.

Hunt Country Classic British Car Show, invites the public to its 13th annual event at Willoughby Farm, 7397 Frogtown Road, Marshall starting at 9 a.m. Food will be catered by Gentry’s Catering Service of Culpeper. Parking and admission is $5 per car load. Gates open at 9 a.m. for car registration and concludes shortly after the 2 p.m. awards ceremony.
Rapphannock Rapidan Community Services Board and Area Agency on Aging transportation services will not operate on Oct. 13 in observance of Columbus Day.

Culpeper County Library offers two walk-in story times for children. Both programs are free and do not require registration: Bedtime Story time is a family event held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. The themes for upcoming Bedtime story times are: Oct. 14, “World Farm Animal Day.” The popular Friday Walk-in Story time is every Friday at 10:30 p.m. Join us for stories, songs, activities and more! Remington United Methodist Church: The Remington Wellness Series addresses life issues that affect individuals, their families, the environment and society in the Fauquier/Culpeper area. The Friends of the Culpeper Library will sponsor a book sale on Oct. 18 and 19. It is a bag sale which means the customer will buy a grocery bag for $3 or a library bag for $8 and then fill it with books (no charge for the books!). The sale to the general public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
