Culpeper County Library announce Nov. 5 is the first day of registration for our Tuesday morning Toddler and Pre-School Storytimes. They library opens at 10 a.m. Registration must be done in person at the Library. Toddler Storytimes are held at 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Preschool Storytime is at 10:30 a.m. This is a five week session, beginning on Nov. 18.

Culpeper County Department of Social Services is accepting fuel applications to help needy families and individuals keep warm this winter. The deadline date for applications is Nov. 14. The Fuel Assistance Program is a supplemental program intended to assist households in meeting their home heating energy needs for this winter.  Applications can be picked up at Culpeper Department Social Services, 219 East Davis Street, Suite 100. Parent/Teacher conferences rescheduled: Parent/teacher conferences that were originally scheduled for Nov. 4 will be held, instead, on Nov. 6. That day will become an early dismissal day, with elementary schools dismissing at 1:15 p.m. and secondary schools dismissing at 1:30 p.m. Conferences will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. at all county schools. Celebrate Fall with Teas and Tours at Oatlands Oatlands’ famous teas return this fall with Fall Teas Nov. 6-8, 13-15, 20-22 and 28-30. Tea seatings are at 1 p.m. and the cost is $24.95, plus tax.  Teas are held in the historic Oatlands Carriage House. Reservations are necessary and teas sell out early. The Culpeper Library announces Saturday Read to the Dogs at the Culpeper Library. The program will be held on Nov. 8 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The Welcome Waggers therapy dogs are coming back for another fun-filled Saturday morning of reading. Empowering Culpeper USDA Food Commodity Distribution has released its distribution schedule for Culpeper: Nov. 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church, 740 Old Brandy Road, Culpeper. Families that are income eligible will be enrolled to receive food commodities on a monthly basis. Households that receive Food Stamps or Medicaid or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) are automatically eligible. The Culpeper Connector provides drop off and pick up transportation to the church.
