Senior movie held second Thursday

Come out and enjoy a free movie and popcorn the second Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. at Hope Community Church, 121 E. Culpeper St. (downtown, behind the Post Office in the HOPE building).

This ongoing activity is sponsored by Aging Together.

No reservations are required, handicap parking is available beside the building and additional parking is available across the street.

We will be watching the Disney movie “Secondhand Lions.” The group will decide what they want to watch at the next Senior’s Movie Matinée scheduled for Dec., 10.

November’s movie is set in Texas during the 1960s, a timid teenager Walter (Haley Joel Osment) is forced to spend the summer with his rich and eccentric great-uncles (Michael Caine and Robert Duvall) on their farm. Over time, he learns about their mysterious and dangerous pasts. Emmanuelle Vaugier plays an Arabian sultan’s daughter with whom Duvall’s character fell in love years ago. Kyra Sedgwick and Nicky Katt co-star.
