Voting in Culpeper County

To be eligible to vote, you must be a legal resident of Culpeper County, have U.S. citizenship, be at least 18 years old and cannot have been judged to be mentally incompetent.

You must register to vote 30 days before an election. To register, visit the county registrar's office 133 W. Davis St,, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You must provide your home address and Social Security number. Re-registration is required only if you fail to vote within a four-year period or move out of your precinct. Precincts are open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election days.

Culpeper County elections occur on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Voters elect the Board of Supervisors, clerk of the court, commissioner of the revenue, commonwealth's attorney, sheriff, treasurer and School Board. Town elections occur the first Tuesday in May of every even numbered year. Virginia elections occur on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
