Catching up on holiday leftovers
Holiday weekends are great, but getting back to work after a long layoff always is a bit tough.
Especially after all the food I packed away.
I love to grill and Monday I cooked it all.
Chicken, ribs, hamburgers, hotdogs, brisket and all the fixings, but the highlight was my special baked beans.
They are so good that you can almost make a meal.
I use a pound of ground beef, a pound of sausage, a pound of bacon, two chopped onions, two 24-ounce cans of Bush’s beans, a large bottle of Kraft Honey Barbecue Sauce and half a bag of brown sugar.
You brown all the meat, add the beans and fixings to the drained meat and bake at 400 degrees and until they start to brown .
I can’t wait to hit the leftovers.
Speaking of leftovers… here are some of leftover news I had to share.
When you make a living shining the spotlight on your life through a reality show, more times than not that light proves to be too hot.
Hulk Hogan’s family dissolved on “Hogan Knows Best,” Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson wilted after a season or two of “Newlyweds,” and even Ozzy Osbourne’s family melted and half ended up in rehab after a few season of reality.
The latest to fall in the white-hot glow of the camera light is Jon and Kate Gosselin of “Jon and Kate Plus 8” fame.
The couple is apparently on the rocks, but hanging on to cash in on Season 5 of the show that tracks the life of a family with eight kids. The season premiere was Monday and the show came across as being a bit whiney.
Here’s a link to one of the best stories on saw on the show.

We’ve all heard the phrase marking a child for life. Well, one father in Georgia has taken that to a whole new level and now he is facing charges because of it.
Eugene Ashley, 24, has been charged with cruelty to children after he tattooed his 3-year-old with the initials “DB” on his shoulder. The letters apparently stand for “Daddy’s Boy.”
What a guy.
