No injuries were reported Sunday afternoon following a garage fire on Sperryville Pike that was ignited by a parked motorcycle.
According to authorities, the fire began around 1:10 p.m. as the bike’s owner was changing a fuel filter when a spark ignited the motorcycle, causing the blaze.
Co. 1 Chief Stacy Carpenter estimates the damage of the bike and garage at around $10,000.
Sgt. Jim Fox of the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office said no charges have been filed.
The detached garage posed no danger to the nearby house.
