James Madison’s Montpelier hosts a 90-minute “Big Woods Walk” Sunday at 2 p.m. Enjoy a guided tour of the James Madison Landmark Forest, a 200-acre, 250-year-old forest on the grounds of the Orange County estate. Walk included with standard admission to Montpelier: $14 adults, $7 children (children 5 and younger free).
Something’s abuzz: Kids and teens can learn about the secret life of bees Saturday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. in a 4-H Beekeeping Workshop at the Virginia Cooperative Extension office downtown. This free workshop is open to youth ages 5 to 18. To register call 727-3435.
Flying high: The National Capital Squadron hosts its Open Hangar Day Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Culpeper Regional Airport, 12499 Beverly Ford Road in Brandy Station. Formed in 1957, the Commemorative Air Force is dedicated to preserving the history of American military aviation. The NCS now has six aircraft assigned or associated with the unit.
