Jim Kennedy holds his 2 pound, 8 ounce beefsteak tomato. Kennedy said he didn’t do anything real special to grow what he described as “one big ugly tomato.” The tomato looked almost like two tomatoes that grew together, but it was a whopper.
He is the weekly winner in the Star-Exponent’s Big Ol’ Tomato 2008 and has produced the largest tomato of the year so far in the contest.
To enter your tomato, just bring it by the Star-Exponent’s offices at 471 James Madison Highway.
The offices are just behind Advance Auto Parts.
We will recognize a weekly winner in the paper and feature the season long champions with a trophy and a feature in the newspaper.
