Bluesman to lead St. Luke’s worship

Blues guitarist Buddy Parker will lead the 8:30 contemporary worship service at St. Luke’s Lutheran church this morning. The church is located at 1200 Old Rixeyville Road.

Born in Culpeper in 1949, Parker left the area around age 22 after playing with local and regional groups and, headed to Nashville, then to the Virginia’s Tidewater area on a wave of success. But after rising to the top of the industry and then crashing down, Parker says he rediscovered his faith and now uses music to share a message of reality, truth, hope and inspiration.
