The Culpeper County Chamber of Commerce recognizes its best and brightest at tonight’s 95th annual meeting and awards banquet.

The event at Germanna Community College’s Daniel Technology Center starts at 5:30 p.m. with a cash bar and silent auction.

A buffet dinner and the program begin at 7.

The night’s highlights will include presentation of the L.B. Henretty Award — the chamber’s top accolade given annually to an individual who serves and leads and, therefore, accomplishes. Past recipients have included such local icons as Connie Kincheloe, Butch Davies, Joe Daniel and Nate Jasper.

Awards will also be given for Small Business Person of the Year, Most Improved Business Location and Young Professional of the Year. A new award for 2009 is special recognition for Nonprofit of the Year.

Limited tickets are still available for the banquet and can be purchased today in the chamber office at the Depot for $40 (members) or $50 (nonmembers).

Check out Friday’s Star-Exponent for more on the chamber’s big winners.

The CSE plans to run profiles of each award recipient later this month.
