Eastern View HS students, staff set to receive vaccine
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District will administer free H1N1 “swine flu” vaccines to Eastern View High School staff and students Friday, according to Culpeper County Public Schools.
Students and staff at Floyd T. Binns Middle School and Pearl Sample, A.G. Richardson, Emerald Hill, Sycamore Park, Farmington and Yowell elementary schools have received their free vaccinations.
Culpeper Middle and Culpeper County High are the only two public schools waiting for vaccines.
Consent forms were sent home to parents in October. Without a parent’s permission, students are not able to receive the vaccine.
CCPS urges parents to “stop by the school office or send a note in with your child to school … if there have been any changes to your child’s consent form or medical information since the form was sent in.”
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District has health departments in Culpeper, Madison, Orange, Fauquier and Rappahannock counties.

To “Wowman” (and anyone else who agrees with them): GIVE ME A BREAK! Since Nov. 9, Culpeper County High School (CCHS) has been mentioned in the front page/news section of the CSE 5 times. In the same time period, Eastern View HS has been mentioned 5 times! EQUAL! As for the sports pages, your so-called “Red headed step child,“ CCHS has had the majority of leading stories, 12 to EVHS’s 6. That’s DOUBLE! (I did not count up any op-ed pieces.) So the bull-malarkey between these two schools that is stirred up by a few in Culpeper is old, tiresome and unnecessary. Students are happy, busy at both schools; teachers and staff and working hard at both schools; both schools have worthwhile events and items of interest that the newspaper covers. Period. End of story. Tomorrow, maybe CCHS will be featured in a story, while EVHS got two today - who cares???????? It’s all positive news about two of our community’s schools. Let’s not forget the news items about the middle schools, the elementaries and the wonderful private schools in our community. Those are covered too, and rightly so.
It is no longer “NEWS” that a new high school opened (along with an elementary) OVER a year ago. The schools have moved on ... why can’t you?
Typical. Eastern View gets top billing in sports and media coverage why should anyone be surprised. CCHS will always be the red-headed step child in the county.
