A raspy-voiced folksy/blues singer will perform at The Stable on Halloween.

Guthrie Kennard of Texas will take the stage Saturday around 8:30 p.m. at 129 E. Culpeper St.

Kennard recently wrapped up a four-day concert series during the Cork Blues Festival in Ireland.

“Guthrie has a loyal following in Europe,” said fellow artist and friend Steve Satterwhite.

Kennard — whose musical influences include Bob Dylan, John Prine and Steve Earl — has played the bass for more than 30 years.

“Guthrie is the real deal,” Satterwhite added.

Ray Wylie Hubbard produced Kennard’s first two CDs.

On Friday, Kennard will perform at Picker’s Supply Concert Hall in Fredericksburg at 8 p.m.
