Golfball-sized hail thrashed north Gordonsville in Orange County Monday afternoon, smashing windows and outdoor lighting fixtures in some cases.
The large, heavy hail moved in with strong thunderstorms and spitting rain around 3 p.m., lasting in intensity for about 15 minutes before tapering off to just a slow drizzle. Rain, thunder and lightning picked back around 4 p.m., intensified by strong winds.
