Veteran journalist Mary Ann Kuhn is returning to the editor’s chair of The Rappahannock News, the newspaper announced.

Kuhn, who previously served as editor of the county’s only weekly paper, replaces Anita Sherman, who resigned after editing the News since January 2005.

The new editor is the proprietor of the Middleton Inn, a bed-and-breakfast lodging in the town of Washington. She served as editor of The Rappahannock News immediately before Sherman. Kuhn left the News to accept a job with a then-new Washington, D.C., daily newspaper, the Examiner. Previously, she worked as a reporter for The Washington Post and as a producer for CBS News.
