Man charged with three assaults

Two people trying to help a woman involved in a domestic dispute with her ex-boyfriend Tuesday were also allegedly assaulted after the incident escalated.

Culpeper Police charged Alfonso L. White, 29, of the 400 block of East Chandler Street, with felony domestic assault and two counts of misdemeanor assault and battery Tuesday afternoon.

According to the police report, the victim claimed White struck her in the head following an argument. Before police arrived, the woman’s mother came to her aid. White allegedly punched the mother, 49, in the face.

White also allegedly struck the victim’s mother’s boyfriend, 42, when he tried to intervene. Officers located White down the block and charged him with a felony due to previous domestic assault convictions.

White was held in jail on a $4,500 bond.
