An early morning fire damaged a two-story home on U.S. 29 in Elkwood Monday, but no injuries were reported.
Fire and rescue units from Remington, Brandy Station and Culpeper Fire Departments re-sponded to the blaze around 3:56 a.m.
“The residents were awakened by a passerby who saw flames coming from a second floor window and called 911,” said a Remington fire official.
When fire units arrived, they saw smoke and fire coming from the second floor.
Fire officials report the blaze was electrical and started in the walls of the home located near the Elkwood Country Market in the northeastern part of Culpeper County.
It took fire personnel about 90 minutes to extinguish the fire and clear the premises.
