The Orange County Chamber of Commerce presents the 2009 Orange County Candidates Forums for candidates for the board of supervisors, school board and constitutional office.

The District 4 Candidates’ Forum will be Wednesday at Locust Grove Middle School. School board candidates will begin at 7 p.m.; candidates for supervisor’s forum will begin at 8:15.

The District 1 Candidates’ Forum will be Oct. 5 at the Barboursville Fire Hall. The seat on the Orange County School Board is an uncontested election. The forum for candidates for supervisor begins at 7:15 p.m.

Candidates who are running in contested seats will be seated in the front with microphones.

Unopposed candidates will also have access to a microphone, but will be seated with the audience.

Questions will be taken from audience members in written form only. Audience members can request question submission materials from forum staff at any time. Questions should be about election issues, not personalities.

Similar questions will be grouped together and asked as one.

Each candidate will have three minutes for opening remarks and three minutes for closing remarks. Questions posed to an individual candidate are allowed a two-minute maximum response time. If a question is posed to all candidates, candidates will have a one-minute response.
