A head-on collision late Tuesday night on U.S. 29 near Reva sent two people to the hospital, authorities say.
Sgt. Jim Fox of the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office said emergency personnel were called to the scene just south of the Reva Market around 10:30 p.m.
According to Fox, the driver of a Chevrolet Impala was northbound in the southbound lanes of the divided highway.
The Chevrolet collided with a southbound Toyota Sienna. Both vehicles came to rest along the median, with the Chevrolet facing north.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Thomas C. Legones, 40, of Alexandria and the Toyota’s driver, Ammasi Periasamy, 57, of Crozet, were taken to area hospitals.
Fox said deputies cited Legones for failure to obey a highway sign and that alcohol was not a contributing factor.
It was not immediately clear why Legones was on the wrong side of the road.
