CHARLOTTESVILLE — Police are hoping a timeline of when and where a Virginia Tech student was last seen will help jog the memory of someone who can provide a key clue to her whereabouts.

Authorities believe Morgan Dana Harrington, 20, was last seen at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 17 on a bridge in Charlottesville, Virginia State Police Lt. Joe Rader said today.

Harrington had gone to the University of Virginia for a Metallica concert, but left the arena and was denied re-entry under arena policy.

Rader says witnesses saw someone matching Harrington’s description around the outside of the arena from about 8:30 until 9 p.m. She then was seen walking across two parking areas, one of which is near the bridge.

Following the disappearance, University of Virginia police say they’re stepping up patrols on Halloween.

University police say they’re increasing patrols on foot and in vehicles in anticipation of Halloween festivities and because there is a home football game Saturday.

They urged students to take precautions by being aware of their surroundings and reporting any suspicious activity.
