A 14-year-old Reva girl was hospitalized late Friday night after police say her 17-year-old sister accidentally struck her with a car.

Town spokesman Wally Bunker said police and rescue workers were called to the accident at the Culpeper McDonald’s on James Madison Highway around 10:15 p.m.
Police say it appears the younger teen was standing on the driver’s side of a 2002 Mitsubishi sedan when her sister began backing the car out of a parking space and rolled over the victim’s right leg.

Bunker said local crews stabilized the teen, who was flown to Inova Fairfax hospital for treatment of a broken leg.

A report on the victim’s condition was not available Saturday afternoon.

Police declined to release the names of the young women due to their age. Bunker said the accident is still under investigation and that no charges have been filed.
