Spotsy teen faces DUI charges in Culpeper

Spotsylvania County resident Timothy Anderson, 19, faces a DUI charge after clipping an oncoming vehicle on Route 3 Friday in Lignum.

A Spotsylvania County teenager charged in Friday evening’s crash on Route 3 near Lignum was driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office.
Timothy Anderson, 19, was eastbound in the westbound lane near the Revercomb Road intersection where Route 3 splits into four lanes around 11:10 p.m. when the wreck occurred.
Anderson’s Volvo struck an oncoming westbound vehicle before he hit a guardrail and landed in the median.
No injuries were reported.
Anderson’s 16-year-old passenger was released to his parents, said Spokesman Sgt. Jim Fox.   
Anderson was charged with DUI, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and driving on the wrong side of the road.
