Town staff gets day after Christmas off

The Culpeper Town Council, in the holiday spirit Tuesday night, granted town employees an extra day off for Christmas.

All town workers, not including essential personnel like police and sanitation staff, will get Dec. 26 off in addition to Christmas Day. Town personnel will work a half-day Christmas Eve.

The extra day will make for a 4½-day holiday weekend and is the same holiday schedule for Culpeper County staff and state workers. However, state and county workers also get Jan. 2 off while Town Hall will be open that day and its staff at work.
