TONIGHT

I WANNA JAM IT WID YOU: The Bluemont Concert Series hosts World Jam Club tonight at 7:30 on the courthouse lawn, West Davis Street. Afro-Cuban meets Brazilian in this diverse ensemble founded by guitarist Peter Fields (left). Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for children 12 and older. In case of rain, the concert moves to the Depot on Commerce Street.

ALL WEEKEND

A GOOD THING GROWING: The Orange County Fair runs all weekend in Montpelier Station behind the old Montpelier Visitor’s Center on Route 20. Hogs, goats, face-painting, magic, pony rides, live music, cloggers, racing pigs, puppet show, dog disc competition, watermelon eating contest, bingo, egg toss, moon bounce, pretty animal contest ... you get the point.
Daily admission is $6 for adults (13 and up) and $3 for children. Kids 4 and younger free. Fair hours are: today 1 to 10 p.m., Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

SUNDAY

UNLIKELY BFFS: The Brandy Station Foundation continues its lecture series Sunday at 2 p.m. with “The Postwar Relationship Between John Singleton Mosby (right) and Ulysses S. Grant.” Presented by the 49th Virginia re-enactors at the Graffiti House, 19484 Brandy Road, this lecture tells the story of how a Confederate commander became close friends after the Civil War with the general-in-chief of the Union Army. Donation of $5 requested. Light refreshments.
