A 26-year-old Front Royal resident accused in last month’s abduction and malicious wounding of a Culpeper man will have his case heard March 24.

On Tuesday, a judge in Culpeper Circuit Court set the date for Devin M. Copeland. He is charged with malicious wounding, wearing a mask, abduction, conspiracy to commit abduction, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, conspiracy to commit abduction and extortion, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Copeland remains in custody, according to court records.

Meanwhile, authorities are still on the lookout for a second man accused in the crime, 26-year-old Quintel Juwan Levenberry of Woodbridge; he faces the same charges as Copeland.

Antrina Bright, 25, of Culpeper, also faces robbery charges stemming from the Feb. 17 incident.

Authorities believe that Copeland, Levenberry and Bright acted in concert to abduct an unidentified man from an apartment complex near the Lakeview subdivision on Virginia Avenue. The victim, his girlfriend and Bright lived in the same residence.

The victim contacted his sister, who in turn contacted police, relaying that the victim’s captors were demanding money for his safe return.

Later that night, police say the victim escaped serious injury after his captors threw him out of a car in Fauquier County.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Quintel Juwan Levenberry may contact Detective Sgt. Andrew Terrill at 829-5521 or anonymously call Culpeper Crime Solvers at 727-0300.

No bond for wife in hit-man case
A judge on Tuesday denied bond to a Culpeper woman accused of trying to hire someone to kill her husband.

Rosemary Randall, 54, faces a felony charge of solicitation of an adult to commit capital murder. She was arrested last week.

Randall appeared before Judge Frank Somerville in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

She is due in JDR Court April 8 at 1 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.

The Culpeper County Sheriff‘s Office has said investigators found that Randall recently solicited friends, on multiple occasions, to kill her husband. In exchange, she reportedly promised to pay the individuals an undisclosed amount of money.

Because the investigation is ongoing, the CCSO says it is not releasing further details at this time.
