A fight over drugs sent a Culpeper man to Culpeper Regional Hospital and landed a Remington man in jail, according to Culpeper police.

Gregory Lee Wallace, 26, was charged with burglary and malicious wounding Friday following an incident at Woodscape Apartments in the 300 block of Duke Street.

The 20-year-old victim was treated and released for a laceration to the head and rib injuries.

Police say officers responded to the area around 11:15 p.m., where witnesses told them Wallace and several others left in a white van. Officers stopped that van several blocks away.

A witness said one of the men was armed with a handgun, but officers have yet to recover that weapon.

Capt. Rick Pinksaw said the argument and assault was a drug-related incident that also left a female victim with non-life-threatening injuries. No charges have been filed regarding her complaint, but the investigation continues.

Wallace remains in jail without bond. He is set to appear in Culpeper General District Court today.

Anyone with information may contact Sgt. Andrew Terrill at 727-3444 ext. 511.
