A Spotsylvania man charged in the deaths of four young people in a Route 3 crash in March is due in court again this month.
Eugene T. Greene, 29, appeared in court Tuesday and is set to return on Nov. 24 at 9:30 a.m. Records show that Greene is expected to advise the court about his attorney.
A grand jury last month indicted Greene, who is free on $20,000 bond.
He faces four counts of felony involuntary manslaughter, felony destruction of property, felony wounding in the commission of a felony, reckless driving and operating an uninsured vehicle.
According to police and prosecutors, Greene was driving westbound in the eastbound lane of the two-lane section of highway near Clay Hill Road on March 22 just before 3 a.m. Greene’s SUV collided head on with a sedan occupied by five people.
Tyler Scott Harlow, 20, Joseph Lee Sahnow, 20, Tianna V. Jones, 19, and James B. Cook, 21, all died at the scene. A fifth passenger in the sedan, Howard John Steiniger, survived.
State Police initially said that alcohol was a factor in the crash. However, Greene faces no alcohol-related charges and police have declined comment on that aspect of the case.
