A Stevensburg teenager faces felony drug charges following a traffic stop Sunday on Brandy Road.

David Anthony Butler, 19, was arrested and charged with felony drug possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.

According to spokeswoman Corey Byers of the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office, deputies found half a pound of marijuana under the driver’s seat of Butler’s sport utility vehicle.

Acting on information obtained during the arrest, they also seized drug paraphernalia including a large digital scale with “suspected cocaine residue” from a Culpeper residence, Byers said.

Butler was released on a $3,500 secured bond. He is due to appear in Culpeper County General District Court Aug. 5 at 8:30 a.m.
