CULPEPER – Route 29 southbound remains closed approximately one mile north of Ruckersville, near Route 633 (Dairy Road) in Greene County due to a crash involving a truck. The truck, which was hauling fruit, spilled its load and is blocking all southbound lanes. The road is expected to be closed into the afternoon as emergency responders and tow operators work to remove the truck.
A detour has been established using Route 609 (Fredericksburg Road), taking traffic west and south to Route 33, where motorists are routed back onto Route 29. Significant delays are still reported in the area and motorists are advised to avoid that section of Route 29. Motorists planning to travel south through Greene County today on Route 29 should use alternate routes.
