Deadline for mailed absentee ballots approaches

Virginia voters choosing to cast an absentee ballot by mail for the Nov. 3 election must submit their application by Tuesday.

Applications are to be submitted to the local registrar’s office by 5 p.m. on Oct. 27. The address is 151 N. Main St. and the phone number is 825-0652.

In order to vote absentee, voters must meet the state’s eligibility requirements. Eligible voters may cast their ballot by mail or in person at the registrar’s office

Voter registration offices statewide will be open today and next Saturday for in-person absentee voting. Normal hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
