Republicans open new downtown headquarters

About a month from Election Day, a handful of local Republican leaders gathered Friday afternoon to mark the opening of Culpeper’s GOP headquarters.

Located at 203 S. Main St., the office will be staffed on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The office phone number is 825-2008.

“It’s always good to have a central point,” Culpeper County Supervisor Steve Walker said.

Joining him were supervisors Tom Underwood and Sue Hansohn. Commonwealth’s Attorney Gary Close was also present.

Hansohn said signs — large and small — along with stickers and literature supporting GOP candidates statewide are available.

Underwood donated use of the basement, three-room space, which is next door to the downtown post office.
