Ghost walk in Gordonsville

A circa-1860 railroad hotel in Gordonsville that served as a Civil War hospital, and that some believe is haunted, hosts it annual ghost walk this weekend.

Severed limbs are said to have piled up around The Exchange Hotel, where more than 70,000 soldiers were nursed from 1862-65. Of those, 700 men were buried around the old hotel and later interred in nearby Maplewood Cemetery.

That in mind, the eigth annual ghost walk is Friday and Saturday, 7 to 9 p.m.

There have been numerous reports of apparitions at The Exchange Hotel as well as many unexplained sounds. Admission is $15 per family; $6 for adults; $5 for seniors; $4 for ages 6 to 15; ages 5 and younger free.
