One-vehicle crash kills Orange man

ORANGE — One person was killed Thursday night after a one-vehicle accident in Orange County.

Bryan Allen Wentz, 50, of Orange was traveling westbound on Route 612 one mile west of Route 662 when he lost control of his 2004 Ford F-150 and struck a mailbox on the right side of the road.

Wentz overcorrected, crossed both lanes of traffic and crashed into trees on the left side of the road.

According to Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Les Tyler Wentz was not wearing a seatbelt and speed and alcohol appear to be a factor.

Trooper J.D. Jones investigated the accident.
