HOW I SEE IT: Great care by Culpeper Animal Hospital
Published: November 20, 2009
My husband, Deputy Kim Gearhart, and I would like to thank the caring and responsive employees of Culpeper Animal Hospital. Dr. Vargas and the entire staff are the most conscientious caregivers of veterinary medicine in Culpeper.
In my husband’s daily duties, on patrol in Culpeper County, he so often encounters stray domestic animals that are in need of care. He recently rescued a very young kitten that had an extremely hard start to life. We called the hospital and explained the situation. They immediately took us in as an emergency.
We cared for and bonded with this kitten for approximately a week with the guidance of the hospital. Each and every time we called with a question, or they called us to check on how the care was progressing, the staff was attentive. Each time, one of the doctors at the hospital would call back with instructions of how to treat the ailing kitten.
Unfortunately, our kitten did not make it in the end. On the day of his passing, once again, Dr. Vargas and the staff did everything in their power to help God’s little creature survive.
This is not the first time this staff of excellent professionals has helped us in the care of our pets. We had a beloved Labrador of 15 years that passed away a year or so ago. The situation also started out as an emergency, and we were seen right away. Dr. Vargas was able to give our girl another couple of months of comfort and care at home until she left us. She passed away at home in our arms, as it should be.
We are so grateful to have such a caring and loving animal hospital to take care of our pets. Those of you who have pets know so well that they are members of your family. When one of them becomes ill, or you are maintaining their good health on routine office visits, you want to feel like your veterinary medical staff is capable and empathetic. Culpeper Animal Hospital exemplifies these qualities.
We highly recommend this practice for your pets’ needs. We take pride in referring those we know to this business. Our pets love us unconditionally and our bond with them is never ending — Culpeper Animal Hospital honors this sentimentality.

Dr. Burchard at Amberwood rocks.
WOW! I’m surprised. All they cared about when they killed my daughter-in-law’s dog was when she was going to pay the bill. They called her at home demanding payment the same day she was there and told her they needed payment IMMEDIATELY in order to “close the books” for that day.
No animal of ours will EVER be treated by Culpeper Animal Hospital again. All they cared about was payment in full of account.
