The basis for President Obama’s speech to the Muslin world June 4

» 62 Comments | Post a Comment

President Obama will “make a major speech on ties with Muslims” on June 4, as part of a “continuing effort of the president to engage the Muslim world.”

The text has not yet been released, but the content of that speech has been being written throughout our president’s life.

He was born in Hawaii to Barrack Hussein Obama Sr., a Kenyan of the Luo ethnic group, and Ann Dunham.

“My grandfather, who was Kenyan, converted to Christianity, then converted to Islam,” Obama said. “[A]lthough my father had been raised a Muslim, by the time he met my mother he was a confirmed atheist, thinking religion to be so much superstition.”

Ann Dunham Obama next married Indonesian student, Lolo Soetoro, whose visa was revoked in 1967.

So, when Barack was six, his family moved to Indonesia, where Barack was enrolled and listed as a Muslim attending a Muslim school in central Jakarta from 1968 to 1972.

The Chicago Sun-Times quoted Obama’s own description of his stepfather’s faith: “Like many Indonesians, Lolo followed a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths.”

“In our household the Bible, the Koran, and the Bhagavad Gita sat on the shelf alongside books of Greek and Norse and African mythology,”1 but his own favorite book, Mr. Obama says, is “The Autobiography of Malcolm X”, Alex Haley’s book about the assassinated leader of the Nation of Islam.

As an adult, Obama was a member of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s Chicago church for more than two decades.

Rev. Wright’s church gave Louis Farrakhan, the current head of the Nation of Islam, its 2007 “Trumpeter Award” because, Rev. Wright said, “Minister Farrakhan will be remembered as one of the 20th and 21st century giants of the African American religious experience.”

During the primary season, Rev. Jeremiah Wright commented: “Barack might be forced by the media and/or by supporters to be very absent from this church and to put distance between our church and himself.”

Wright explained: “When [Obama’s] enemies find out that in 1984 I went to Tripoli” to visit Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi with Louis Farrakhan, “a lot of his Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in hell.”

Obama identified Rev. Wright as his “spiritual adviser” and mentor. The training he received from Wright, Obama said, “was the best education I ever had.”

Former PLO and Arafat spokespersons Raschid and Mona Khalidi founded the Arab American Action Network in Chicago. A gala dinner was held in their honor with a commemorative book filled with testimonials, including ones from the Khaladis’ friends and Hyde Park neighbors, the ex-Weatherman domestic terrorists Bernadine Dohrn and Bill Ayers and then-state Senator Barack Obama.

One of Mona Khalidi’s groups had received a $40,000 grant from the Woods Fund of Chicago, when Obama and Ayers served on the fund’s board of directors.

Khalidi told the mostly Palestinian crowd that state senator Obama deserved their help in winning a U.S. Senate seat: “You will not have a better senator under any circumstances.”

Earlier this year, news cameras filmed President Obama bowing to Saudi King Abdullah at the Group of 20 summit in London, showing our president bent low at the waist, head lowered, and his right hand extended for King Abdullah to accept. The Saudi-backed Arabic paper Asharq Alawsat wrote approvingly: “Obama wished to demonstrate his respect and appreciation of the personality of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz…”

What will the president say in his June 4th speech? Whatever he says, we can only pray that it will be spoken with a respect and appreciation of the personality of the people for the United States, whose national motto is, “In God We Trust.”

CONTINUED:

EL SAYS: “Actually I defy you to post any facts at all.  You never do.  All you do is say Sharman has never posted anything wrong.”  I SAY, correct.  And when he does, in my opinion or fact-finding time, I have the guts to admit it.  Like when the math was wrong…or did you forget.  But you want to turn a math mistake into something sinister.

EL SAYS: “The porn shop was the beginning. Of course a simpeleton like you would think that was the only reason.”  I SAY, at least you admit where your hate begins here.  I don’t see this anti-porn store right to object and campaign against as anything other then his right to do so as an American.  You have every right to disagree with his opinion, but you can’t call it a fact to prove he’s all the names you’ve called him.  What fact in his opposition to this porn store do you find behavior that is outright wrong or against the law?

EL SAYS:  “You forgot the stuff he said in court that I witnessed him sayng and that you are denying even though you know you weren’t there. Do you want to lie and say you were?”  No, I asked you many questions regarding this case to get outside collaboration of your story, and you failed to provide it.  I will even give you my private email, if you don’t want to put it out in public here??  But other then your say so alone, I will not believe what you said you heard, until you provide the case number, and I look at the transcripts.  Because I’ve already seen how you will read into something that is not said, which you’ve done to me countless times.  So fork up the facts, or don’t use this as an example.

EL SAYS:  “His quoting “facts” from a guy who was kicked out of his own professional organizations because of poor and inexcusable research habits was another biggie.”  I SAY, “Go ahead, share the facts to back this accusation up.  Or what you said is no different than TIBB using Alex Haley as some honored author we should all be reading and looking up to.

EL SAYS: “His"standing by” his fuzzy math even after several people pointed out he was wrong.”  I SAY, I know for a fact that Sharman will never respond to the commenter’s on this forum.  From the figures you provided in another discussion, I agreed with you that the math was wrong.  What else do you want?

EL SAYS: “His constant harping about single mothers and gays ruining the world (until Obama came along).”  I SAY, I have never once read in any of his articles any writing in any way in which he conveys that single mothers are ruining the world.  Gays yes.  And they are trying to tear down way too many moral foundations in which this country was built on.  Why are you taking his stance so personal?  He is allowed to have his opinion here.  So am I, and so are you.  What’s wrong with pointing out the changes that have come because of immorality?

EL SAYS:  “His pomposity and general arrogance displayed in his writing just keeps it going.”  I SAY, again, this is your opinion.  Just because Sharman writes about what he believes in, why is that pomposity and general arrogance?  What gives you the right to make those accusations?  I could say the same thing about you.  You write as if you are an authority on Sharman?  Like you are someone who knows him personally on a day to day basis, and could give us countless examples of this behavior…but you are not that close to him, and you cannot give us examples of his pomposity or arrogance.  I always thought when you called someone names, you were supposed to have real life provable examples, and not just opinions because you don’t like someone’s beliefs.  That’s intolerance.

EL SAYS: “Is that enough or is still bad ol’ me just hating on your boyfriend?”  I SAY:  Once again, your only actual proven fact with all your ranting, is that Sharman made a mistake on math.  And even with that mistake, there’s no proof of his arrogance about the mistake, just your opinion.  So, I guess we’ll have to wait till next time, huh?

NOTICE TO THE “SHARMAN CROWD” & OTHERS WHO MIGHT CARE!

The C-SPAN2 Channel will broadcast a “In Depth Discussion with Bill Ayers” on their Book TV weekend series this weekend. The schedule is: Sunday, June 7, at 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM; Monday, June 8, at 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM and Saturday, June 13, at 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Bill Ayers is the domestic terrorist that J Michael Sharman mentioned in his column this week. Ayers’ wife, Bernardine Dohrn, also a domestic terrorist, will appear.

I’m an old man. When I was in grade school, the school yard bully would call his fellow students nasty names. The adults taught us to ignore the name calling because “Sticks and Stones May Break Our Bones But Words Will Never Harm Us”. The adults taught us to be confident in ourselves, in the American heritage and in the Constitution. Never fear Free Speech; Free Speech is not only speech you agree with: Free Speech is also the speech you disagree with, the speech you find stupid and the speech that disgusts you. Speech advocating violence is never Free Speech.

A couple of decades ago, there was a most popular book of fiction which was terrible. On TV, a Literature Professor from England called the book trash. The Professor was criticized for not reading the whole book after he had stated he had only read the first 2 chapters. The Professor explained that the cook only needs 1 or 2 spoonfuls to determine the stew is bad. The cook doesn’t need to eat the whole pot.

We always have the liberty to turn off the TV or close the book.

I don’t expect to watch this show Sunday. I have other things to do.

Note, I did learn in school that when the school yard physically abused you, you first warned the bully to stop. If he continued, you smacked the bully in the face. The bully would then cry and run away because bullies are loudmouth cowards.

OW, you have rejected any facts that ANYONE has posted that is contrary to what Sharman says.  It’s not just me. You attack, yet you accuse everyone else of attacking.  You want “wait to see”.  Sharman will continue his trash and you will jump right on the bandwagon.

Tell me who the Republicans are?  I know who they are.  It matters that Obama was on the board, but it doesn’t matter who “delved out the money”? If it had been a Dem you and Sharman would have posted their names here.  Sharman won’t do it.  I defy you to do it.  Actually I defy you to post any facts at all.  You never do.  All you do is say Sharman has never posted anything wrong.

The porn shop was the beginning. Of course a simpeleton like you would think that was the only reason.

You forgot the stuff he said in court that I witnessed him sayng and that you are denying even though you know you weren’t there. Do you want to lie and say you were?

His quoting “facts” from a guy who was kicked out of his own professional organizations because of poor and inexcusable research habits was another biggie.

His"standing by” his fuzzy math even after several people pointed out he was wrong.

His constant harping about single mothers and gays ruining the world (until Obama came along)

His pomposity and general arrogance displayed in his writing just keeps it going.

Is that enough or is still bad ol’ me just hating on your boyfriend?

OW…“He’s our president, now let’s wait and see”“  Your words,OW…Now where have I heard that before??? Oh, yeah, this is what I’ve been trying to say for the last couple of days.  Now that they’re your words,  everything’s coming up roses.  When anyone else says it you have to go into a diatribe about accusations and substatiation.  C’mon!!!!!  Chill and cut me some slack!!!!

Flag Comment Posted by OrdinaryWoman on June 05, 2009 at 2:39 pm

I think accusations whether toward me or Sharman, should be supported.  And when I challenge you to do that EL, that’s when I’m met with your sarcasm.  You’ve called him many names, but don’t offer support.  You can have a different opinion, but say that…you believe differently, don’t act like he said something wrong, when I’ve never seen a lie.  I’ve seen mistakes, typo’s ect.. on all our parts.  But never the stuff you all accuse him of.  Then when I kept pressing for facts, I finally find out that you’re mad at him over his stance and actions to stop a porno shop.  Well, duh!! That’s his right. The same ones you have.

If you ever offered evidence, I dare you to show me in what post, EL.  The GOP didn’t give up on Ayers and Wright, the media that wanted Obama elected did.  So fine.  He’s our President, now let’s wait and see.  And if you’d do your homework, you could find out easily who sat on the board, I even pointed out how easily the documents are to get…or the lack of them.  What does it matter who delved out the money?  What matters is what they did with it, and the results of all the efforts.  Have you read their report back to the foundation???  It is pitiful!!

But, as I said, I’ll just keep on waiting for your evidence on Sharman, other than your personal hate for him that we all learned about months ago.

OW. the big difference is that my “remarks and accusations” are directed toward Sharman yet you jump in to defend while never actually putting anything up that supports him… thus my comment that giving facts to you is a waste of time.  You support the Ayers and Wright innuendo while even the GOP gave up on making that tenuous connection.  If you were honest you would be able to tell us who the Republicans were that sat on that board, but for some reason you and the partisan hack never do.

Flag Comment Posted by OrdinaryWoman on June 05, 2009 at 12:48 pm

Rogersk, would you care to point out where my anger is?  Would you elaborate on your innuendo that I have another axe to grind?  Or do you just have the same kind of remarks and accusations that ELD makes, but won’t back them up?  I thoroughly enjoy my debates with people, I thank the Lord I have the time to do it, and almost 100% of the time I write, all who keep up with me here see the kicks I get out of it.  So upset, angry, as you erroneously think, is not me.  ELD knows what I mean by his remarks and why I used the word bigot on him.  He’s accused me of the same things you just did, but can’t back it up.

EL, I thought bigot was a good word to run with today, as we’ve used tolerance and hate to the max.  Did you take your anti-depressant today?  You’re not as engaging as usual.

Flag Comment Posted by El Debibble on June 05, 2009 at 12:36 pm

OW, you will defintely have to wait for something YOU would consider “substantial”.  You have proven many times over that posting any contrary facts is a waste of time.  You won’t consider them and your own research never involves actually questioning anything Sharman writes.

A “bigot” against you?  Is that what you are going to start using in place of “hate”.

Flag Comment Posted by rogersk on June 05, 2009 at 9:52 am

OW….Why are you so angry about this issue???? Could you possibly have another axe to grind?  I’ve had issues with ElD. and rjma in the past but, at least, I can undersatnd their postings and you can only blame yourself for their feelings about your comments. I haven’t seen any sogns of bigotry in ElD’s remarks.  Please explain… You are so upset by this whole thing that you make it difficult to understand what you’re trying to say and it is not because I am unintelligent.  No one can ever accuse me of that.  If you’re proud of being part of the “Sharman Crowd” that is your right but just try a little objectivity.  YOu make it nearly impossible for the others of us not to read your postings without a bit of disdain.
