A Civil War fight for the ages

Since all Civil War preservationists are so enthused with battle re-enactments, maybe one can be scheduled with the forces of Gen. Sam Wal-Mart when the dust settles over the latest Wal-Mart/Wilderness saga.

I can envision the battle unfolding like this: The front lines of Gen. Sam Wal-Mart will consist of track hoes, backhoes and front-end loaders. On the left and right flanks will be concrete trucks placing curbing and guttering. Bringing up the rear will be dump trucks and paving machines placing parking lots.

The Civil War preservationist will counter the focus of Gen. Wal-Mart with overweight horses, men in wool suits in 100-degree temperatures and cannons and muskets that will be firing blanks.
With odds like these, I can see a betting American going with the forces of Gen. Sam Wal-Mart.

Funny to think of like that.

I don’t think it hurt Gettysburg to have the 3 Wal*Mart’s they have on each of its corners.

And when the dust settles on this one, the people that have what they want in life, may just let the have nots have some too.
