A sleeping giant is about to be awakened

In regard to Thursday’s letter “Support limited gov’t, individual freedom,” no political party wields power. The true power base is securely lodged in “we the people.”
There is nothing more powerful, except God of course, than Americans uniting for a common cause. It is ridiculous to believe a few thousand can exert their unholy and anti-American beliefs and practices on 300 million without fear of retribution.
“We the people” should never fear the government. Just the opposite, when the ones governing are doing wrong and harm to our America, our culture, our traditions, then they should rightfully fear the people. I believe that a “sleeping giant” is being roused once again, and she is about to wake up from a long, long, sleep.

A peaceful movement of information is sweeping this land and others. Join it. Dig in. There is one very hefty and liberating body of work to be devoured.

Waddy, this is one of the very reasons why I have never, and will never, listen to him speak. I may read what he had to say later (rarely even that), but I will not listen to him and be turned into one of his zombies. He’s not MY Messiah, and I don’t know about the “malignant narcissist” but I do know he is a lying snake.
Of course Obama is The Messiah! He Hiz VeryOwnSelf said he could “turn back the oceans and heal the planet”. He HizVeryOwnSelf told students at Dartmouth “ a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Barack.”
Newsweek’s Evan Thomas said “He is above us, above the world. He’s sort of a God”. Oprah Winfey said he “has an ear for eloquence and a Tongue dipped in the Unvarnished Truth.” He sends a tingle up Chris Matthew’s leg. School children and lining up and singing praises to Dear Leader. “He positions himself as hovering above mere mortals, mere country, to gaze benignly upon the darkling plain beneath him where ignorant armies clash by night, blind to the common humanity that only he can see”. C’mon people, recognize your Savior, your Messiah. He is either that, or a malignant narcissist. Take your pick.

Given earlier discussion on another thread about the lack of need for senatorial advise and consent for presidential “czars”/“advisors”, why would a president NEED to seek congressional approval for his civilian security force? Maybe he simply wants A LOT of “security advisors”...

For the record, I want to make it clear that I did not use the term “secret police” in my discussion regarding this issue (at least I’m pretty sure I didn’t). And, I agree with you about the pervasiveness and persistence of rumors and conspiracy theories, once they are initiated.
But for ME, at least, any controversy about this statement Mr. Obama made in that campaign speech should be able to be cleared up by Mr. Obama, himself, if he simply issues a press release, or makes a public statement, along the lines of:
“There has been a good bit of discussion and misunderstanding about my July 2008 comments regarding my belief in this country’s need for a ‘civilian security force’. I want to take this opportunity to clarify what I meant by that statement. This is exactly what I had/have in mind regarding that issue… (Mr. Obama’s clarification/explanation here).”
I will not be so presumptuous as to say he “owes” us an explanation, but he DID promise us the most open and transparent presidential administration in the history of our nation (or its RECENT history, at any rate). Getting in the habit of plainly and clearly explaining his “misunderstood statements” to the American public would go a long way towards achieving that goal.
I’m not sure why he used the word “security”. Surely it is open to a wide interpretation. But I can find no evidence that he is advocating (nor is the Congress agreeing to) any secret police agency.
Incidentally once a rumor like this gets started trying to find out what it is really about is difficult simply because the search engines are overwhelmed by the conspiracy theories.

What evidence do you have, other than assertions by “factcheck.org”, that HR1388 represents the end to which Mr. Obama was referring when he suggested we need a “civilian security force…“?
Also, since when has Americorps or any other “federal public service program” been considered part of a “security force”?
The man did not say he wanted to expand Americorps. He said we need a “civilian SECURITY FORCE”, a heretofore unnamed and unknown “force” in our country. I think it is safe for a reasonable person to conclude that he was NOT referring to any existing public service programs.
Thus, despite the “round hole” the folks at “factcheck.org” have tried to force the “square pegs” of his actual words into, I am not buying the claim that Mr. Obama was merely referring to an increase in funding for Americorps. Please understand that I am also NOT saying that I think he is going to try to form his own “gestapo” (although I DO intend to keep my eyes wide open).
As far as I knew, this country’s “civilian security” was taken care of by the FBI and other existing federal law enforcement agencies. So, we are still left with the unanswered question as to what Mr. Obama was actually talking about; and I wouldn’t mind hearing it from his own mouth as opposed to the semantic games played by his apologists and sycophantic followers.
It seems to me that if he WAS simply expressing a desire to provide extra funding for existing programs and agencies, he would have simply said exactly that. He is, after all, a brilliant communicator.
rogersk, I see you are still reading what I write even though you’ve repeatedly written that you won’t. Same with Sandalwood. You certainly aren’t people of your word, but I am pleased. I agree “nuts to that.” It’s just more of your hollow words not ours. You say, I “will not allow” you to avoid me? Now can you explain what control I have over what you do? Now you’re blaming me for what you do? Regardless of what you think I think, without authorization, you willfully, maliciously and outed who you think I am. In doing so you violated the Terms and Conditions of this site, plain and simple. Wrong again, a friend once carelessly mentioned my name, no other posters have before you, and the CSE once posted my name and telephone number by mistake. None of that has any bearing on what you maliciously and wrongly did and continue to do.
