A waste of $1.5 million by VDOT

» 2 Comments | Post a Comment

In response to Wednesday’s article “VDOT presents grand plan for U.S. 29,” I want to lodge a complaint against corruption and VDOT waste.

Why would any responsible official, elected or appointed, invest $1.5 million of the taxpayer’s money to develop a “plan” that you knew was going to be obsolete in terms of engineering, environmental and social considerations before it could be implemented?

I mean, did someone owe a debt to these road “gurus” at Parsons Transportation Group?”And it ends up being presented to the affected communities shortly after 1,000 Virginians losing their jobs at VDOT.

This expenditure was total, unmitigated horse-pucky.

eyesis,
I agree with ya about that light at Main and Evans. I am so fed up with having to come home that direction and deal with the idiots trying to push their way through that right turn on red light.
The light at West and Evans should be synchronized with the light at Main and Evans to make traffic easier .

I would have thought the mini beltway from 29 to 522 to 729 to 229 would have made more sense. This 29 thing is definitely one of cronyism. I see the cluster muck on Main and Evans every evening. Because people don’t have enough sense to stay behind the line, they block people making legal lefts onto Evans. One day there will be a massive accident there. Hey people that 2 feet to 4 feet you block is not going to get you there any faster, and please let me warn you that if I ever have the displeasure of being a witness to an accident due to you blocking Evans on a red light right turn I will say it is your fault.
