Branch was wrong to not re-hire deputies

I wrote a letter prior to the sheriff's election about how I thought Jim Branch was a bureaucrat.
I was wrong.
I should have used the word "tyrant."
Again, I don't live in Culpeper, but I work here, so the firing of two fine upstanding, loyal, dedicated deputies to make room ( in my opinion) for his cronies is unprofessional and quite frankly appalling.
The manner in which this was done - placing envelopes on their desks in their absence with no explanation - is beyond un professional.
What happened to fair and honest dealings-
I think Sheriff Branch has done two things here: 1) It's going to be harder to recruit new deputies if they know how their boss is going to rerward hard work. and 2) this sends a message to existing deputies, "support me, be loyal to me, and pay hommage to me during the next election cycle or you're out of here!"
I believe this is how a tyrant works.
And to the 55 percent of the people who voted for him, he is saying. how do you like me now-
