Celebrate the town’s 250th by renewing your faith

As our town celebrates 250 years, let us remember the important role Christianity has played in Culpeper.

There are so many churches that have given countless hours of service and love to this town — from visiting the sick, feeding thousands, clothing our neighbors and giving words of wisdom, to name just a few.

I propose that God’s people celebrate by searching our hearts, reforming our ways and loving our neighbor, and turning back to the Lord Jesus Christ.

These scripture verses come to mind:

- “Now reform your ways and your actions and obey the Lord your God.  Then The Lord will relent and not bring disaster he has pronounced against you.” (Jeremiah 26:13)

- “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37)

If you are a Christian and consider yourself God’s people, then join me and celebrate by searching our hearts, repenting, changing and praying that we see our wonderful town last another 250 years, with the blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ.
