Enough with Bono, already
Published: October 10, 2009
I know that celebrities can cause normal people to go a little nuts, but all the hysterics over where and what Bono chose for lunch is absurd. Especially tacky was the inclusion of the cost of the meal and amount of tip as part of the article. If Bono stops here again, I fully expect the Star-Exponent to read: “Bono and Crew Stop to Refuel at Local Gas Station, Three Staffers Use Men’s Room. Locals Astonished!“

I seen the ballon boy at the 7-11 buying a redbull, got his autograph.
Hold on, Oprah is in town and just dropped a deuce at Pepperberries…news at 11.
Culpeper is a small town with rural roots. It is big news when a big star passes through. We are not as big as Charlottesville, Richmond, or Northern Virginia and we are proud of it. ———From city slicker who now is a Yokel!
BTW - richmond, I have seen several articles in the Fauquier paper about what Duvall does and does not do around town, especially the first time… guess you don’t know what you’re talking about huh?
They seem to me to be small town people who were excited to see a celebrity. I enjoyed the article. I have no problem being a yokel. Those of you that do have a problem come off as sort of crotchety.
Amen to that! Instead of making Culpeper look “important” because an actual famous person stopped here for lunch, it made us look like even bigger yokels than we already are. Does anybody think that folks in Charlottesville scream and faint when Sissy Spacek is spotted in a grocery store? Or that Fauquier residents become hysterical if Robert Duvall stops somewhere for a hamburger? Get a grip, people.
