Fundraiser enjoyed great success

We would like to thank the local community for supporting our first fundraiser, an Upscale Rummage Sale, held at St. Stephens Episcopal Church Sept. 19. It was a huge success! Proceeds from the rummage and the raffle ticket sales will go to start the wheels turning for the establishment of a spay and neuter clinic in Culpeper County.

A lot of people donated raffle items, items for the sale, lots of time, muscle and, of course, their hearts. A very special thank you to Marc Ast, owner of The Frenchman’s Corner, and Randy Jones, owner of Randy’s Flowers. Their generosity and support was incredible.

We would also like to thank Connie at It’s About Thyme, Laurie at The Farmer’s Wife Market in Remington and Lillian at Lil’s Alterations for donations of raffle items.

No words can describe our sincerest appreciation for our tireless volunteers: Alain Verheugen, Aldene Helwick, Eric Couturier, JoAnn Houston, Laurie Counts, Nancy Hughes, Peg Quarto and the wonderful young men and women from our local ROTC who cheerfully and quickly moved furniture and other heavy items into the parish hall for the sale.

Lastly, we’d like to thank the staff at St. Stephen’s. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating.

What a great idea.  Let the world know in advance what the dates/days of operation are going to be. If I am available when you need intake-pickup-cleanup volunteers, I’ll be there.
